JILL SOBULE COMES HOME FOR A HOUSE CONCERT IN BOULDER ON FEBRUARY 23
Denver born singer-songwriter Jill Sobule is best known for the 1995 single "I Kissed a Girl," and "Supermodel" from the soundtrack of the 1995 film Clueless. Her folk-inflected compositions alternate between ironic, story-driven character studies, and emotive ballads, a duality reminiscent of such great American songwriters as Warren Zevon, Harry Nilsson, Loudon Wainwright III, Harry Chapin, and Randy Newman. In 2009, Jill released an album funded entirely by fan donations, one of the early pioneers of crowdfunding, and she recently mounted a successful run of her autobiographical musical, “F*ck7thGrade,” in New York. When the show closes next month, Jill is headed back to Colorado where two Denver shows sold out in record time. Boulder music fans Andy and Jodi Zicklin are opening their home for a living room concert on Thursday, February 23, so reserve your seats below and get ready to be delighted by Jill's incisive humor and joyous chutzpah including tunes like “Almost Great," “Margaret,” “Mexican Wrestler,” and “Bitter,” when Jill returns to home next month.
