THE TAPESTRY BAND MAKE DENVER DEBUT PLAYING ICONIC CAROLE KING ALBUM

Do you remember the first time you heard Carole King's iconic Tapestry album? I sure do! And so does Madeleine Leigh, a young, Boulder-area bass player who dropped the needle on a used copy of the LP and soon after assembled an all-star group of Colorado musicians to recreate the magic of the recording in its entirety. Hear all of the beloved tunes, including "I Feel the Earth Move,"  "It's Too Late,""You've Got a Friend," and "Smackwater Jack," when the band ventures to the amazing Two Moons Music Hall on Larimer Street in Denver to treat our ears to the memories. ​More info and tickets available here.

1st ANNUAL FIVE POINTS LIVE! JAZZ & ROOTS CELEBRATION
​AT THE SAVOY DENVER
Commemorating 10 Seasons of Shows on October 4, 2025

We launched Five Points Live! in May of 2016, and on October 4, 2025, we presented a celebration of our 10th season of shows with a special concert honoring the musical history of the neighborhood, and supported by a generous grant from Denver Arts & Venues, and with support from Gift of Jazz. The sold out show at Savoy Denver featured Nani Vazana singing Nina Simone and a hint of JS Bach, plus Ley Line harmonizing on world folk, blues, and funk, and Chantil & The Dukes of Art, a trio led by jazz pianist Chantil Dukart. In addition to these mainstage artists, local fave Laurie Dameron rocked the jazz and blues guitar​ on the mezzanine. ​Tickets were just $10 (for 10 years!) and the awesome space at our neighborhood treasure was also activated with the Maiz food truck, craft cocktails and Jakrabbits zero proof beverages, and Thick's local gelato, to help us celebrate a decade of Five Points Live!​

REMEMBERING JILL SOBULE, 1959-2025

Jill Sobule played the first season of our living room series in 2016, and again the next year, and she was the artist whom we presented the most during the first decade of Five Points Live! Jill was an award-winning singer-songwriter, a human rights activist and queer icon, and she was our friend. Jill Sobule died in a tragic house fire in the Twin Cities area on May 1, the day she was to fly to Denver, her hometown. Beyond our living room, we worked to present Jill in the home where she grew up in Denver’s Hilltop neighborhood, as well as at the home of her late mother’s best friend. We arranged for Jill to be a surprise guest at Jews Do Jews in 2023, and our final show with Jill was at the Savoy Denver for 100 people in December of 2024. We were to serve as her Tour Manager in May of 2025, and had planned to announce that Jill’s autobiographical musical, F*CK 7th GRADE, was booked for a run in Denver in September of that year. We miss Jill so much - her always original music, the way she made friends with everyone, her spontaneity, and those texts we'd send during Nuggets and Broncos games. Stay tuned for some opportunities to celebrate Jill's life in the coming months, and join us in spinning Jill Sobule tunes any time you need a lift, a laugh, a good cry, or some inspiration.
